Dear Fitness Connection Family,

Thank you for taking the time to connect with us. And thank you for your continued loyalty through this crisis. Our mission is to change lives by making a healthier lifestyle more accessible, and lately that has been more challenging than ever. We know you miss your workouts and we miss seeing you. We are fully committed to safely reopening the gyms so that you can get back to your fitness community and continue your journey toward your goals.

We will be reopening all North Carolina gyms beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2020. We understand this may be later than other health clubs plan to reopen. Be assured that your health and safety continues to be our top priority and we want to be sure all protocols are in place prior to reopening the doors. While your Fitness Connection experience will look different, we assure you that all the changes were made with your health and safety first in mind.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT FITNESS CONNECTION

As you step back into the gym, we wanted to let you know about the health and safety precautions that we’ve implemented. You can also visit this link for a preview to what you’re experience will look like.

Temporary Hours

  • •Monday – Thursday, 5am-10pm
  • •Friday, 5am-8pm
  • •Saturday 8am – 5pm
  • •Closed Sunday

North Carolina Government Requirements

  • •Restricted Occupancy: we will be admitting a limited number of members per location based on the size of the gym. Average North Carolina occupancy at 30% is 171, but please visit your local gym for specifics.
  • •Full-coverage Face Coverings: all members are required to wear face coverings at all times
  • •Shower and locker use not available

New Safety Measures

  • •Teammate and member temperature checks required to enter
  • •Touch-free check-in process
  • •Protective shields positioned at contact points at the front desk
  • •Gloves and masks worn by all Fitness Connection Teammates
  • •Member access only, guest privileges are temporarily suspended due to capacity restrictions

Cleaning and Sanitization

  • •While we have always had the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitization, we are taking extra precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our members and our team
  • •Use of EPA-approved, hospital-grade disinfectant and sanitization products
  • •Increased staffing to cover all operating hours with enhanced-level cleaning and disinfecting of all high-touch areas of the gym
  • •Hand sanitizer available for members at entry and exit
  • •Disinfecting spray available throughout the gym for members to wipe down equipment before and after use
  • •Reduced hours of operation will allow for deep cleaning and disinfecting during closure

Social Distancing

  • •As you enter the gym, you will notice social distancing markers and notifications. Please stay at least 6’ away from the other gym members and our Teammates
  • •We have relocated some equipment and limited access to specific pieces of equipment to ensure social distancing

Amenities Available (may vary by location)

  • •Workout Floor (Free Weight, Cardio, Strength Machines)
  • •Turf and Functional Training Equipment
  • •Fit Flix Theater
  • •Women’s Only Area
  • •Pro-Shop for food/drink purchases
  • •Restrooms and water fountains

Amenities Temporarily Closed to maintain social distancing and occupancy restrictions (amenities may vary by location)

  • •Use of Lockers
  • •Showers
  • •Kids Club
  • •Group Fitness and Cycle Studios
  • •Basketball and Racquetball Courts
  • •Pools, Saunas, Steam Rooms
  • •Personal Training
  • •Tanning

Billing

We understand the financial burden some of you are under which is why we elected to discontinue membership billing as soon as we closed our doors. Although we are opening on September 8, we’ve elected not to charge for the month of September. Your health is what matters and we will be open to support your healthy lifestyle. Membership billing will resume in October.

For those of you who had an annual fee due in March through August while we were closed, or in September, we did not bill you. Your annual fee will be moved to the same calendar date in November. The amount will be the same as previously stated in your membership agreement. This will be your annual fee billing date moving forward.

In addition, as a thank you to your loyalty during this time we’re extending all members 25% off Pro-Shop purchases through September 30.

Valued Fitness Connection Members,

We hope this message finds you and your families safe and healthy. We’d like to thank all of you for your continued support during this unprecedented time. It’s been inspiring to see you continue your connection to fitness through Fitness Connection @ Home. Even without the physical gyms open, our community keeps us moving together.

At this time, our gyms remain closed due to government mandates and all membership billing remains frozen. We miss seeing you at the gym and we are doing everything we can to open the doors as soon as we’re able, while keeping your health and safety in the highest regard.

Our current company-wide efforts are focused on how we can quickly and safely open the doors for you to continue your fitness journey. We expect to receive government guidance on when and how we can reopen soon. We will inform you as soon as we have more information.

You may want to consider updating your email preferences to ensure you’re receiving the most up-to-date information regarding reopening status. You can do this through the member portal. Visit fitnessconnection.com and select the “My Account” dropdown. Your default username and password is your FC keytag number.

In the meantime, we encourage you, your friends, and family, to work out for free with our [email protected] platform. Try a live-streaming or on-demand class, check out a new smoothie recipe, or get inspired with our do-it-yourself workout equipment tutorials. We’d like to touch base with you on Fitness Connection’s latest actions regarding COVID-19. As you’re all aware, the country remains under a Stay-at-Home Order to protect the health and safety of our communities. As a result, all Fitness Connection locations remain closed until further notice as we continue to stay updated on the latest recommendations to safely open the gyms as soon as possible.

As stated previously, all membership billing has been automatically frozen for the duration of the time we will be closed.  We’ve taken care of this for you. You do not need to take any action to make this change. Be assured, you will not receive any charges to your account during this time.

Our world has changed. Your life, your work, and your routine have all changed. But the one thing that has remained constant is our commitment to YOU, our members. We understand how challenging it is right now—mentally and physically—to find the time and the energy to focus on your well-being. But it’s also extremely important, and we want to do our part to keep you inspired.

Today, we’re introducing a new platform to continue our dedication to keeping you connected and keeping you moving. Fitness Connection @ Home is your online partner in maintaining your connection to fitness. This platform meets you wherever you are in your fitness journey, and wherever you are in your daily routine. We connect you with live instructors, unlimited access to virtual classes and workouts for any experience level, plus nutritional tips and do-it-yourself workout solutions.

Our goal is to provide a community that keeps you inspired, keeps you informed, and keeps you moving. And you’re not doing it alone.

In each of our communications, you’ve heard us speak to your health as our top priority. We truly mean that, which is why you are not seeing pricing or membership join features on our website. We are temporarily ceasing all sales activity and offering this platform completely free of charge – open not only to you, as members, but to all within the communities we serve.

We believe the more people we can get started on incorporating fitness into their new routine, the better – because health is what matters in a time like this. And it’s the community that will keep us going.

Our true north in this ever-changing environment continues to be our commitment to you, our members, and to our Fitness Connection teammates. When you joined Fitness Connection, we made a promise to be your constant connection to fitness and your go-to resource to help reach your goals, in and out of the gym. We won’t let this situation stop us from doing that.

Starting today, we’re launching Fitness Connection @ HOME, which we hope will bring you real, fun, and versatile ways to keep you moving, informed, and inspired while, most importantly, keeping you connected with your fitness community.
