The Fitness Connection in Lake Norman will officially become Gold’s Gym on March 19th, 2018 at close of business. Our brand is built on the ability to provide our members a wide variety of amenities and services at the best possible value.
Fitness Connection reassures you there will not be an interruption to your fitness routine. All members who originally enrolled at the Lake Norman location are now Gold’s Gym members and will continue to have full use of this facility. Gold’s Gym will be honoring current membership rates, which includes your Personal Training Membership and/or Tanning Contract. We have full confidence that the owners of Gold’s Gym will soon become family to you, as we did.
The decision to transition the Lake Norman location to Gold’s Gym comes as a result of careful consideration from the Fitness Connection team and their efforts to keep the concept consistent across all locations. Q: Why is my Fitness Connection membership at Lake Norman changing to Gold’s Gym?
A: Fitness Connection’s current Lake Norman location no longer fits our model with its limited space and limited amenity options. We worked with Gold’s Gym to take over this location which will allow us to focus on expanding in other areas with our newest model and brand standards. (Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about new locations in North Carolina.) We have full confidence that the Gold’s Gym Family will take care of you and continue making your gym experience unbelievable upon each visit.
Q: Who is Gold’s Gym?
A: Gold’s Gym is a leader in the Health and Fitness industry, that was established in 1965. Today,
there are over 700 locations on six different continents, serving over 2 million members.

Q: Will Gold’s Gym honor my current membership rate?
A: Yes, Gold’s Gym is honoring the same rate that you are currently paying.
Q: What will change with my membership Access?
A: As your current membership is now a Gold’s Gym membership, it will only allow you access to this Gold’s Gym location. Gold’s Gym will be offering you very low-priced upgrade options exclusively to you for multi-club access as a way to welcome you to the Gold’s Gym family!
Q: What should I do if I joined here at Lake Norman originally, however I also use the _____________ location for when I go workout before work?
A: If you want to remain a member of both locations and you originally joined here at Lake Norman, you would keep this membership as is (it is now a Gold’s Gym membership) and we will allow you to re-enroll at any of our other Fitness Connection locations for $0 Down and $10/month as long as you enroll before April 30th, 2018. This would give you a membership at both Fitness Connection and Gold’s Gym. If you choose this, please ask for a manager at Fitness Connection and they will help you get started.
Q: What if I originally joined another Fitness Connection location other than Lake Norman, however I moved to Lake Norman and I only use this location?
A: We will transfer your home club to the Lake Norman (now Gold’s Gym) location. Please email Brandi at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, member number and contact information.
Q: What if I want to cancel?
A: We hope that you are not canceling because of the transition, as we feel Gold’s Gym will absolutely treat you right! However, if you still choose to cancel, this is done online. Both the Fitness Connection website and the Gold’s Gym website will direct you how to cancel. You may also contact Kelli O’Connor, email@example.com.
Q: What happens with my Personal Training Contract or my unused training sessions?
A: Nothing changes with this, you may continue with your Personal Training Agreement as these have also been transferred to Gold’s Gym.
Q: What happens to my Tanning Membership?
A: Nothings changes, you may continue to tan as your tanning agreement states.
Q: What if I am a Silver Sneakers member – will I still be able to use this location?
A: Yes, Gold’s Gym also offers Silver Sneakers so there will be no interruptions in your workout!
Q: Will this location remain open?
A: For at least the next 100 days, yes. Gold’s Gym is in the beginning stages of a massive renovation plan to transform its current Cornelius location into a state of the art facility that is consistent with the Gold’s Gym brand standards. These renovations and facility improvements will be consistent with offering the same amenities that are offered at t other seven award-winning locations in this area. Gold’s Gym has an arrangement with the facility owner to remain in the space until those renovations are complete, which are scheduled to be completed by the end of June. A complete renovation plan, renderings, and schedule of construction will be available soon on our website.
